影視人類學家及電影理論家，在東非、澳大利亞、意大利撒丁島和印度攝制民族志電影。1973－74年，與妻子茱迪斯·麥克杜格在東非肯尼亞共同制作了《婚禮上的駱駝》（1977）在內(nèi)的“圖爾卡納對話”三部曲，此后攝制了關于印度照片的電影《拍照片的人》（1991）和《意識》（2010）以及關于澳大利亞土著社區(qū)的八部電影，如，《接管》（1980）、《陽光與暗房》（1986）。其他的影片還有《和牧群一起生活》（1972）《服務生的年代》（1993）、《學校景觀》（2007）及《宮墻之下》（2014）。1997－2000年，他主持一項在北印度杜恩學校的研究，制作了《杜恩學校紀事》（2000）及四部電影，接著攝制了關于印度南部瑞詩谷學校的影片《學校景觀》以及有關新德里流浪兒童收容所的影片《甘地的孩子》（2008）。同時，他還撰寫了大量影視人類學學術論文及三部著作：《跨文化的電影》（1998）、《有形的影像》（2006）、《看的機器》（2019年即將出版）。目前，他為堪培拉澳大利亞國立大學文人藝術研究院榮譽教授，并在這里主持近的《兒童與現(xiàn)代性》研究，本項目鼓勵印度孩子在他們自己的社區(qū)中從事視覺研究。

安德烈·辛格于牛津大學獲得人類學博士之后，開始了人類學與電影制作的雙軌職業(yè)生涯。以研究者、制片人、導演、監(jiān)制、責任編輯的身份，他在紀錄電影領域從事長達40年的研究。從《正在消失的世界》的編導，到BBC紀錄片部獨立單元的負責人，他有豐富的紀錄片制作經(jīng)驗，還曾在BBC紀錄片部建立紀錄片“精剪”系列（后成為“故事谷”）。他曾與國際電影人合作，如，讓·魯什（Jean Rouch），沃納·赫爾佐格（Werner Herzog），彭尼貝克（D.B. Pennebaker）、邁克·格里格（Mike Grigsby）、鮑勃·德魯（Bob Drew），弗雷德·懷斯曼（Fred Wiseman）。近，辛格當任監(jiān)制的影片有：導演Vikram Jayanti 的《Uri Geller生命的意思》在BBC2播出，邁克·格里格的近影片《我們?nèi)ゴ蛘獭?，Carol Morley的《生活的夢想》，以及眾多紀錄片獎項獲得者、奧斯卡提名的約翰·奧本海默《殺戮演繹》和《沉默之像》。作為導演，辛格的影片《夜幕降臨》（2014）入圍眾多電影節(jié)并放映，成功獲得英國皇家電視社會獎、皮博迪獎、2015－16年艾美獎的佳歷史紀錄片獎。2016年，由他為沃納·赫爾佐格導演的關于火山與人類關系的電影《步入地獄》當任制片，二人前后共同合作過15部紀錄片。同年，他制作的《風吹何處》是關于哈薩克斯坦和北美核武器實驗的電影。近，與沃納·赫爾佐格共同完成的新片《會見戈爾巴喬夫》將于2019年發(fā)行。到2018年9月為止，安德魯·辛格當任大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯(lián)合王國皇家人類學學會主席，同時任英國威斯敏斯特大學電影客座教授以及美國南加州大學人類學客座教授。

歐文的研究涉及以下四個基本領域：1. 醫(yī)學人類學：疾?。℉IV/AIDS/癌癥），死亡及瀕死；2. 視覺與感官知覺：認識、盲，行動，身體；3.方法：民族志、試驗及合作的方式，電影制作；4. 都市人類學、世界主義。通過電影與多媒體的運用，其研究涉及廣泛的學術與大眾領域?！稁缀鯕⑺雷约旱哪腥恕罚˙BC Arts/ Hibrow 2015），便是歐文與戲劇導演Josh Azouz基于其學術論文的合作形式，并且在英國愛丁堡藝術節(jié)、BBC藝術頻道，以及BBC iPlayer、Odeon 影院連鎖店上線播出，達到4星和5星的評價。他的試驗電影項目還有：“紐約故事：他者市民的生活”（2013）已在30多個網(wǎng)絡平臺播出，包括美國國立博物館、科學美洲、Wenner Gren基金, 美國公共電臺、美國之音等，已達50萬觀眾，這些均在國際媒體中有廣泛報道。安德魯·歐文目前的研究是以電影和照片的形式，在南非的索維托和德邦關于失聰兒童及青年問題研究。本研究得到英國醫(yī)學研究理事會(MRC)及人文藝術研究理事會(AHRC)挑戰(zhàn)研究基金支持。

我家孩子是戴的傳統(tǒng)的活動牙套，沒有戴MRC，記得當時找賈維良醫(yī)生檢查，說了幾種矯正方法，好像是提到MRC了，但是說這個矯正時間比較長，我家孩子也沒有什么不好的習慣，也不用戴這個。
